Be careful. India's emigration rules limit the service charge that a registered recruiting agent may charge a worker, and the agent must give you a receipt. A fee far above the official limit, or any cash payment without a receipt, is a red flag. Before you pay anything, check that the agent's registration number appears on the Ministry of External Affairs list of registered recruiting agents. Ask for the written job offer and the employment contract from the employer, not only from the agent. Pay only by bank transfer to the registered agency, and keep the receipt. Keep your original documents, and hand over copies only. Our free fake-agent check lists the red flags and the official sources. If the agent cannot show you the official limit it is charging within, do not pay.
An agent in India asks for a large fee for a Gulf nursing job. Is that legal?
